Mission Statement

The mission, philosophy and vision of the Talbot Group is to provide a therapeutic and home-like environment that encourages individuals to function as independently as possible, whether they are residents in a Nursing Home, our Brain Injury Services or Intellectual Disabilities Services.

At the Talbot Group we adopt a person-centred approach within the context of social inclusion and improved quality of life. We provide social, leisure, therapeutic, educational, community and pastoral care. Our broad-based programmes offer a variety of activities that meet the changing needs of the residents.

Residents regard our facilities as good places to stay where their preferred way of life is accommodated in accordance with the core values of rights, independence, choice, privacy, dignity and fulfilment.

Within our Brain Injury and Intellectual Disabilities Services, we aim to promote rehabilitation using the following main principles:

    • Interdisciplinary assessment and rehabilitation service for clients with complex needs.
    • Therapeutic programmes that promote mobility, optimum physical and cognitive functioning, social and occupational skills and the treatment of emotional and psychiatric disorders to enhance functional independence.
    • Highest quality and standard of treatment, therapy and care
    • Support and advice to relatives, carers and relevant professionals
    • Education and dissemination of expertise on the model of neurobehavioural rehabilitation.
