All units have developed unit-appropriate policies which are evidence-based to reflect best practice. We have a Policy Review Committee who meet regularly to ensure the latest information is taken into consideration. Policies include:

HIQA Standards and Legislation
HIQA have developed "National Quality Standards for Residential Services for People with Disabilities". These standards will be backed by legislation in the near future and in preparation for these standards our Disability Services are already maintaining them.
To ensure compliance with these standards and in readiness for HIQA inspections, internal auditing is ongoing in all our units.
Training
All staff complete an induction which covers mandatory training such as manual handling, first aid, health and safety, fire training and group policies and procedures. In-house training is on-going with each member of the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) contributing to training sessions.
External courses are sourced for staff in various subjects from degree courses to one day information sessions.
Multi Disciplinary Reviews
Our MDT meet every week and carry out clinical reviews on each client. A Case Conference is held quarterly on every client to monitor progress. Families and all relevant agencies are invited to attend these conferences.
