Quality Programme

Nursing Home Services Quality Programme

At the Talbot Group we take Quality and Safety very seriously, and we have embraced a programme of continuous improvement to ensure that we deliver a quality service that offers the best care and support to our residents. We are continuously researching best practice and new and innovative ways of doing things that are evidenced based and will deliver better quality care and outcomes.

All services in the Talbot Group organisation are regulated by the Health, Information and Quality Authority (HIQA). Both Talbot Lodge and Blackrock Abbey in Dundalk are registered with HIQA

Quality Programme

The Talbot Group Nursing Homes are fully committed to providing quality care and driving the standard upwards. We are currently carrying out a number of quality audits. The audit results are used to drive the quality improvement programme.

The overall benefit of our quality programme is improvement across all aspects of the service that ultimately leads to an enhanced quality of life for residents.

Disability Services Quality Regulation and Accreditation

At the Talbot Group we take Quality and safety very seriously and we have embraced a programme of continuous improvement to ensure that we deliver a quality service that offers the best care and support to our residents. We are continuously researching best practices and new and innovative ways of doing things that are evidence-based and will deliver better quality care and outcomes.

All services in the Talbot Group organisation are regulated by the Health, Information and Quality Authority (HIQA).

Our facilities and homes at Redwood Extended Care Facility and our Autism Specific services at Meadowview in Stamullen are fully registered with HIQA. All of our other services have had full monitoring inspections carried out by HIQA.

In addition to HIQA inspections we carry out our own internal quality audits on a systematic basis in order to continuously test and assess our performance against the standards required and to evaluate our outcomes.

We are very pleased that our autism-specific services at Meadowview Bungalows have been accredited by the National Autistic Society (NAS) who are the leading UK charity for people on the autism spectrum and their families. Achieving accreditation can improve the quality of care for people with autism by:

  • Providing a unified standard of excellence in both policy and practice
  • Presenting a systematic framework for continuous self-examination and development
  • Giving guidance and support to the services who use the programme so that they can meet the established criteria required for accredited status

Meadowview Bungalows is currently one of only two centres within Ireland with this accreditation.
