St Clare’s Disability Service – Stamullen County Meath

St. Clare’s provides a comprehensive Residential service for adults, male and female over the age of 18 years who have an Intellectual Disability/Brain Injury with complex care needs some of whom may display behaviours that challenge.

The aim is to provide care and support that maximises quality of life and wellbeing using person centred principles within the framework of Positive Behavioural Support. Furthermore, we strive to promote community integration and participation. We aim to provide a homely environment that promotes dignity and choice for the Residents.

St. Clare’s is set in spacious parkland setting with landscaped grounds, close to the village of Stamullen. It provides living accommodation consisting of 15 bedrooms. One bedroom is assigned to one particular individual who accesses respite care every second weekend and for one week during the year, and 4 separate individualised units St Clare’s is fully accessible for wheelchairs.

All bedrooms are fitted out to a high standard and have a TV point. Rooms are decorated to each Residents individualised choice.

Residents have access to a phone if required. All rooms have been designed to afford easy accessibility.

Residents are encouraged to bring in personal items which will ensure that their environment is as homely as possible.

All our Residents have the right to privacy and are treated with the upmost respect and dignity. The facility is also equipped with a large catering kitchen where meals are prepared by a trained chef. Residents are involved in deciding the menus, and these are reviewed on a regular basis.

A number of Residents participate in activities which include self-catering and food preparation for personal consumption. Refreshments and drinks including tea and coffee are available on request.
