A referral form should be completed fully by the local HSE Disability Manager. The HSE will return the referral form to the Talbot Group and the Respite Manager will contact the person’s family to arrange an assessment date.

The Talbot Group provide Respite to young adults with an intellectual disability and who may also have complex needs where it is deemed by the HSE that the person  would benefit from regular and planned breaks.  Such respite breaks also enable family members to continue their important role in caring for and providing support to their family member on an ongoing basis.

We have two Respite Houses, one is located in Balbriggan, Co. Dublin and the second is located in Athboy Co. Meath.

 

Bower House, Balbriggan, Co. Meath

Bower House is located within walking distance of coastal town of Balbriggan town. Local amenities within walking distances shops, cafes, restaurants, hotel, Millfield Shopping Centre, Primary Care Centre.   Ardgillian Castle is nearby with scenic walks overlooking ocean with coffee shop on site. Balbriggan is serviced by Train from Balbriggan Train Station and Dublin Bus, to Dublin every hour.

 

Oatfield  House, Athboy, Co. Meath - Opening Date To Be Confirmed

Oatfield House is close to the town of Athboy which has amenities including a selection of shops, hotels, coffee shops, pubs, pharmacies and churches.  Also available close to Oatfield House is sporting and recreational facilities.  Additionally, there is regular bus links  Dublin city and Cavan town, as well as a local bus links to the towns of Navan, Trim and Drogheda.
