The Talbot Group are delighted to announce the opening of their new Respite Service in Balbriggan, Co. Dublin.
Bower House provides respite service for adults both male and female over the age of 18 years with intellectual disabilities, autistic spectrum and acquired brain injuries who may also have mental health difficulties and behaviours which challenge. The objective of the service is to promote independence and to maximise quality of life through interventions and supports which are underpinned by Positive Behaviour Support in line with our model of Person Centred Care and Support. Our services at Bower House are provided in a home like environment that promotes dignity, respect, kindness and engagement for each service user. We encourage and support the service users to participate in the community and avail of the amenities and recreational activities.
Service users are supported on a 24hr basis by a team of nurses and health and direct support workers who are supported by a PIC.
Local amenities include shops, cafes, restaurants, hotel, Millfield Shopping Centre, Primary Care Centre and pharmacies all within walking distance of Bower House. Ardgillian Castle is nearby with scenic walks overlooking ocean with coffee shop on site. Balbriggan Golf Club and Club House is nearby. We have our own allotment in Balbriggan and there is access to Balbriggan Library which is open 6 days per week. Balbriggan is serviced by Train from Balbriggan Train Station and Dublin Bus, to Dublin every hour.
